Allstate was losing younger customers to cut-rate competitors like GEICO, brands winning on price alone. But cheaper doesn’t always mean better. When you cut cost, you often cut coverage. We created Mayhem to shift the conversation from savings to protection and to show what customers were really giving up. It was time to deposition the competition. With Dean Winters as the walking embodiment of chaos, we warned drivers that if they didn’t have Allstate, they might not be protected from life’s mayhem.
